In 2012, I founded COMMUNE, a multi-purpose creative precinct built as a platform for collaboration, enterprise and social impact. It grew into four Sydney locations, turning over more than $1.2 million annually with a team of six full-time staff. Our 4,000 square metre Waterloo site became one of Sydney’s most in-demand event and shoot venues. In 2020 I completed a major flagship redevelopment in Newtown just before COVID hit. While the business didn’t survive lockdowns, it gave me deep experience in scaling, operating and activating large creative spaces.
